Six-Figure Writing, Journalism & Communications Jobs for the Week Ending April 4

More than 30+ jobs and calls for pitches that pay $1 per word, $103 per hour, or $230,000 per year for remote or hybrid work. Are you a paid subscriber?

This week, I have put together a collection of more than 30 new remote, hybrid, freelance, and full-time opportunities for professionals in journalism, writing, communications and media production who want to make a living wage ($1 per word or more or $100k or more in salary).

I include high paying jobs and gigs at Fast Company, Apple, AirBnB, Glamour, Travel & Leisure, Vox, AARP and many others

If you’re a paid subscriber, you know that I always include editor email addresses, pay rates, and any insights I can offer from my 15+ years of experience at top tier publications and as a long time, professional freelance journalist.

There are no other newsletters on the market that offer this kind of insight or access.  For $5 per month, you’ll get four brand new newsletters, access to all past newsletters that come complete with everything from editor email addresses to (everyone’s favorite) Dishonorable Mentions. That’s less than the cost of a cup of coffee.

You can get immediate access to the newsletter by becoming a paid subscriber through Beehiiv, here.

One Thing That Caught My Eye This Week

there was this really fantastic story from the NY Times over the weekend, about the diminishing opportunities for creative Gen Xers and Xennials who have weathered some of the most challenging technology, economic, and world order changes over their lifetime. If you’re like me (and many of my cohort) you know this story all too well, but the main thing that I took away from the piece is this: Traditional “jobs” and “work” for mega-corporations that you can stay at for your entire life are nothing more than a myth, and they’ve probably been a myth for a lot longer than we’d like to acknowledge. Jobs where you can feel fulfilled and creative and still pay your rent simply don’t exist (anymore), and likely won’t exist again.

That means that now, more than ever, is a time to forge your own path, perhaps consider striking out on your own, and find ways to keep more of your money in your own pocket, rather than simply continuing to work to line the pockets of the multi-billionaires who are actively dismantling democracy in the US.

We can no longer blindly buy into the idea that working hard, playing by the rules, and being a good little soldier is the path to homeownership, independence, financial freedom, and success. If you’re niched down into a tiny focus area (say, like automotive, which will be decimated by the tariffs), I cannot stress how important it is to start to pivot and expand your work product right now.

I won’t lie and say everything is alright–because it’s clearly not. What I will say is that this “historic moment’’ requires  each of us to do our jobs to the best of our ability (and most factual and truth based ability), and demands that we remain courageous and brave in the face of tyranny and upheaval.

While the picture for media and communications may be evolving, this newsletter offers some hope–with plenty of very high-paying jobs you can do remotely or on a hybrid basis. Keep your heads up, folks. We’re weathering a sea change, and now is the time to batton down the hatches; things could get bumpier.
